Computer-controlled waterjet cutting is a fast, precise and extremely economical CNC manufacturing method for prototypes and series production. With its cold cutting process, it is particularly gentle on the material. Thanks to its high precision, even complex shapes and minimal radii can be cut without any problems.

Waterjet cutting is basically suitable for all metals and plastics. Even hard materials such as marble and titanium can be cut precisely with the CNC waterjet machine tools.

How does waterjet cutting work?

Waterjet cutting uses a jet of water at extremely high pressure to precisely cut through and shape the material. The pressure of the water jet is between 4,000 and 6,000 bar, and it can reach exit velocities of up to 1,000 m/s.

Depending on the hardness of the material, either pure water or a mixture of water and special sharp-edged garnet sand is used to cut the material. Waterjet cutting is a material-removing process in which material is removed.

Waterjet cutting can achieve impressively burr-free cuts with high precision. This method is used in a wide range of applications and is particularly suitable for high-quality engraving and fine cutting work.
