Briefly explained
How does injection moulding work?
In the first step, the raw material, consisting of plastic granulate or powder, is brought into a liquid state by heating. The liquid plastic is then injected under high pressure into the moulding tool, also called a cavity. Once the melt has hardened in the mould, it is opened and the finished plastic part can be removed. The finished parts can then be refined by various processes such as polishing, painting, electroplating and laser marking.
